Dedicated to the Youth and Parks in Our Community

Big Day of Giving 2024 is quickly approaching. Mark your calendars for this opportunity to maximize donations to Carmichael Parks Foundation through matching funds. Early giving starts on April 18th. Watch for more information!

The Carmichael Parks Foundation is honored to have been recognized by Assembly Member Ken Cooley as a 2021 California Nonprofit of the Year and by the Carmichael Chamber of Commerce as their 2022 Nonprofit of the Year.

2022 – A Year of Recreation, Swimming and Park Improvements

The Carmichael Parks Foundation celebrated another year of service to the community by supporting a wide range of youth and family programming as well as improvements to several local parks. Foundation funds supported:

  • Modernization and improvements to the Veteran’s Memorial building in Carmichael Park,
  • Youth recreation and after school program scholarships including swimming lessons and Project Lifelong (skateboarding & mentoring),
  • Landscaping for the newly remodeled Garfield House Event Center, and
  • Fencing for the Sutter Community Garden.

Foundation volunteers also joined the Carmichael Recreation and Park District and other community organizations during summer concerts and family events for Christmas and Easter in Carmichael Park and helped educate local residents on the benefits of Measure G at election time. With no administrative overhead or paid employees, Foundation donations for projects are maximized.

The Foundation’s work was made possible through generous community donations along with a SMUD Shine grant. Over $70,000 was raised through the Dinner in the Park, Big Day of Giving, and the July 2nd Red, White and Blue celebration along with direct donations and the beginning of a new membership program.

The Foundation is looking forward to another year in support of the thirteen Carmichael parks and programs for youth and families in the community. Thanks to the voters for their support of Measure G for Great Parks in Carmichael. We are excited to partner with the park district as improvement projects get underway.

Building Community

Tuesday, August 2nd was National Night Out and Carmichael Parks Foundation was represented. The event produced new friends and strong community connections, with lots of smiles and laughter.

Bocce Ball Courts in Carmichael Park Are Now Open!

The Carmichael Recreation and Park District and the Carmichael Parks Foundation are delighted to
announce that the Bocce Ball Courts in Carmichael are now open, although with some limitations due
to the current COVID-19 restrictions.

The new courts are located near Carmichael Park’s North Avenue entrance and are currently open to
a limited number of players who must wear masks and maintain social distancing. No tournaments or
league play are allowed at this time, but we enthusiastically look forward to that in the post-pandemic
future.
